The Female Overblouse Dress Shirt is available for ordering through the Coast Guard Uniform Distribution Center (UDC). It is authorized as optional wear for Auxiliary females as an alternative to the light blue dress shirt worn with the Tropical Blue uniform only. Further information, particularly concerning the placement of accoutrements on the shirt, can be found in ALCOAST 531/08 at the Coast Guard general message web site:

document AUXILIARY SEW-ON INSIGNIA
document I understand that the use of metallic rank insignias on ODUs will no longer be authorized after August 2007 and we must use the sew-on rank insignias. It is common for Auxiliarists to wear the basic rank insignia (member) when working within a group of enlisted personnel or when aboard ship. This is so any civilians present will not be confused by enlisted personnel giving orders to auxiliarists who are wearing Aux officer insignias. If we use the sew-on Aux officer rank for our ODUs we will not be able to change to the "member" rank as before, unless we have separate ODUs - this would be cost prohibitive.
document There is some debate as to which sew on collar devices are appropriate for the ODU. We know that member insignia are worn for augmentation, but are member insignia or officer insignia worn for primarily Auxiliary functions (meetings, patrols, PA, other working occasions)?
document If I am wearing my Service Dress Blue uniform to our Christmas Party. Can I wear a civilian long-sleve white shirt (6 button)?
